Jado Pado Office [co-designer]
Jado Pado was a fun project. I was a co-designer and enjoyed working on this open space, industrial minimal look, and up-beat office in Boulevard Plaza Tower 1 in Down Town Dubai.
The work culture of the company required an all open space, something I personally like because it creates an airy fresh ambient, and allows natural light to bounce freely in the office, which is very healthy. Furthermore, Whatever budget that was to be for the gypsum and/or glass partition can now be allocated to other elements.
The client wanted an industrial look but funky, fresh, and minimal at the same time, hence the white open ceiling rather the usual black one, the orange funky industrial pendents, the raw concrete and wood textures in certain places, and the cozy and casual furniture and flooring.
The huge shelving unit and cabinet going long-side the narrow portion of the space was inspired completely by the units you'll find in the Social House in Dubai Mall. It also contains a dry pantry in the center; the counter-top and back-splash were made of one continuous blue marble slab with no joints.
The office was located on the floor before the last in Boulevard Plaza Tower 1, so you can imagine the amazing city view overlooking Sheikh Zayed Rd. and Jumairah further ahead.
