AR Villa Design.

During my first meeting with Mr. AR and his wife I realized that working with them presents a chance to do residential interiors outside the norm here in UAE. They are young, innovative, and they have a unique style. This was an opportunity for me as a designer.

They wanted each space to be different, and I didn't mind that at all. In fact, I don't believe that the whole villa necessarily needed to follow one style. My part would then be not only to design the spaces up to my client's desires and wishes but also to tie everything up together, I'm a big believer in harmony.

I achieved that by using similar patterns and textures throughout the villa to harmonize everything and give the spaces a sense of a unified character despite the differences.

The overall feeling in the villa after finishing the design was contemporary, bit classic contemporary in some areas, while modern contemporary in others, with a slight rustic and country feel in the common area upstairs, and contemporary Moroccan in the women's majles.

Innovation came from things such as the bold use of certain materials like the concrete floor in the first floor, the wooden ceiling, certain creative details, and the very wild and creative kids bedroom, as well as many other features and spaces.

The villa is in Sharjah and I can bet that no other villa would look the same in Sharjah and Dubai, and that's what I love about residential design; it's a marriage between the designer's character and that of the client.
